I was nervous leading up to today because my knees had been bothering me all week.  After the drive to SG, my hips were tight and really beginning to ache.  Dusty, my sweet sister in law, worked on my hips and VOILA - no pain!

Marcie and I met at my parents and ran to catch the buses up to the start.  We ran 3.38 for our warm up.  We were going to try to stay together but got separated right after the start.   I was on my own and it took me a couple of mile to get my rhythm but I ended up feeling really good.  I was unsure of the last half of the race becuase the route was different than when I ran it 2 yrs ago, so I ended up holding back a little because I was unsure of the last 2 miles.   I finished with a time of 47.14 which is a PR.  It is 1 min faster than my DesNews 10k in 2008 and 5 min faster than my Spectrum 10K in 2007.   I am very happy with my time, but I need to get over my mental block of pushing hard because I could have done better.  I am extremely happy that I felt great and I am ready to finish training for Boston.

Way to go Jody! That is an awesome time. I told Julie last night that I am really looking forward to May 27th right now. That would be the day after Ogden. I'm kind of tired of training and I'm dreaming of the easier month after Ogden. I think a lot of it is this cold weather. It stinks. We will get back to where running is fun and not a chore. Hopefully:)

Congrats on your PR yesterday. We saw you finish, but then we didn't get to talk to you after that. It was fun to meet your mom and hang out with you before the race. Thanks for letting me tag along!

Great job Jody! And I know you could go even faster! Bask in the new PR- you rock! Sorry I didn't see ya out there. I didn't run it this year. Feels a little weird since I ran in the last 2 years. I'll be doing the Zion's 10k next month though...

That is SO GREAT Jody! I am glad that your knee did okay through the race. I am sure it was hard to decided how hard to push with that pain, so you did GREAT!!!! I am so happy you PR'd!
