Ran with the BBK today.  We ran up Glenmore and back down. My goal for today's run was to average marathon pace.  I started out with a fast pace warm up during the up hill and my keys came unpinned from my shorts so I had to go back and find them.  I fell way behind the group so I had to work hard to catch up - this took a long time. I pushed as hard as I could up to the turn around and then started to really push the pace.  I caught the main group as we went back up the "big hill"  and then passed them at the top.  I continued to push the rest of the way down.  My 4 miles from the turn around were all in the mid to low 7's - YEAH!

Sounds like a great run!

I keep wondering what BBK stands for?

From peggy on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 12:20:01

You looked great today, Jody. Way to go.

Cal, BBK stands for Bingham Butt-Kickers. (I hope that word is okay to say on the blog)

HOLY COW! YOU...GO....GIRL! I am so glad you are in for St. George! Have you decided what you are going to shoot for?

From Jody on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 22:30:58

Kim - Overall first goal is to finish, but I am going to pace for an 3:35 and see how I do. What are you planning on?

From Julie on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 22:38:40

Great job Jody. That is a fun course. I'm bummed I missed it. The low 7's is an awesome pace.

From Kim on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 22:46:43

I'm not quite sure what to do yet. I kind of think of going out for 3:40, but Tom thinks maybe I should be a little more conservative than that. I know I can at least do 3:50 if I do things right. That would be a BQ. But if I try for something faster and then bonk then I may miss the BQ. So I am still considering and pondering and fasting and praying and running and napping and going a bit crazy over the whole thing at the moment! :o)
