Woke up, not ready to race.  I had one of those pre-race dreams last night.........  The race was taking place indoors during the winter and I had left my shoes at home.  I had my husband bring me my shoes and instead of running socks he brought Knee Highs.  I tried to do the best I could and they kept moving the starting line and pretty soon I was racing in my winter coat with my purse and Paula wouldn't hold my stuff.........anyways ended up finishing in 40 min.........  Bad dream.

Reality:  I remembered my shoes and so it was already going to be better than my dream. We lined up and I was  really unsure of how I was feeling and what kind of performance I would have.  We started and my legs were like lead - The negative thoughts started coming and I remembered Josse's words "I can, I can, I can..."  They worked.  The first mile is up hill and then you turn around and come back down for mile 2.  Mile 3 starts flat but goes up hill and then flat  and into the park.  At about 2.75 my eyes started with the double vision thing again (I learned at the opthomologist's that I have 20/15 vision with something similar to Lazy Eye in my left eye that when it gets tired, I get double vision).  I  just tried to not fall down and make it to the finish line.  I was so happy to finish with 23:25 on a hard course.

Saw Sasha for a few minutes after the race and congratulated my neighbor Dallen who finished 9th overall.  Had to leave fairly soon afterwards because my son has ballgames today.

Happy Running!

Great job, Jody! Is that a PR for a 5K? You did really well!

Wait to get a PR! You rock! Good job putting Josse's words in your head. My friend at WBR told me when she gets tired she starts saying "Power Strength, Power Strength" over and over again. I tried it and it really helps. Can they do anything for your double vision thing thats going on?

JOdy, sweet race, not any easy course, 200 commando points for the PR, you are such a humble runner.

Great run for you today. Next time if I leave my luggage at home I may be able to keep up with you! Have a fun time at Stadium of Fire. I will be thinking of you tonight while I am relaxing at home and you are driving:( Anyway thanks for getting me out to the run!

That is some fast running girl! I get that weird vision thing too--but I think mine comes from dehydration and exhaustion. It's weird. Love the knee high sock's, winter coat, and purse dream. That would have been a funny sight at a July race! At least you slept last night long enough to have a dream! Way to go on that 23 minute finish!
